I have enjoyed practicing yoga and used it to help warm up for cheerleading in school ever since I was in the third grade. Its always given me much more in return than I invested and I feel like it is the reason I've never suffered from any back pain unlike some of my immediate family. As a business woman, I've always enjoyed it so much, I had intended to become an instructor and teach yoga after retirement, but during the Covid period two things happened to hasten my timing. One, like everyone else, I had more time on my hands, and two, I took care of my brother during hospice care. If you've ever had the privilege of that care then you're very much aware of the amount of stress that comes along with it. It can be mentally, physically and emotionally draining and it was during this time that my yoga practice, along with prayer & meditation, got me through. So much so that I realized I simply must share this art, this space and this form of peace.
After studying nutrition as a hobby for decades (because loved ones suffering so many diseases) then starting to build my website for my yoga career, I realized I had too much helpful knowledge in nutrition not to share it with my yoga clientele. Next thing you know, I signed up for not one, but two, nutrition certifications to give my knowledge in nutrition structure and credentials. This wasn't per se to work as a nutrition coach, but simply to share my knowledge with likeminded yoginis when and where there is interest. I believe that serious yoga practitioners take nutrition very seriously and I am able to add a bonus with this knowledge to my regular patrons when necessary or asked to further their mission in health.
